▸Warranty terms. 6 to 12 years on tanks, 12 to 15 years on tankless heat exchangers, and an actual claims process when something fails.
▸Parts availability. When something does fail, we want to be able to get the part same day, not order it from a warehouse three states over.

On the tankless side, Navien and Rinnai have been the two best residential brands in the US market for years. Both carry 12 to 15 year heat exchanger warranties, both have strong technical support, and both have parts that we can source same day on Long Island when something needs replacement. We pick between the two based on your specific home, hot water demand, and install location. A note on store-brand water heaters: some big-box stores sell water heaters under their own house brand. Underneath the label they are typically made by AO Smith, Rheem, or Bradford White. The catch is the warranty terms, contractor-installation requirements, and parts availability can differ from the manufacturer's own retail line. We can install one if you have already bought it, but we cannot warranty the unit itself the way we would for one we sourced and registered for you.
