Every install comes with two layers of protection. One from us on the work itself, and one from the manufacturer on the equipment.

From the Manufacturer

Full Manufacturer Warranty

6 - 12 Years
Depending on model

Every unit we install comes with the manufacturer's full warranty on parts (and sometimes labor for early-life defects). We register the warranty for you so you don't have to.

  • Tank: typically 6, 8, 10, or 12 years
  • Parts (burner, gas valve, controls)
  • Heat exchanger on tankless units
  • Registered in your name on install day
Exact terms vary by manufacturer and model. We tell you the term up front and provide a copy of the warranty card.

Manufacturer Warranty Terms

What the Big Brands Cover

Standard residential tank warranties at the time of writing. Confirm exact terms on the warranty card we leave with you on install day.

BrandStandard Tank WarrantyPremium Tier
Rheem6 to 8 years tank & parts10 to 12 years on Professional Prestige
Bradford White6 years tank & parts10 years on Eco-Defender / RG250H series
AO Smith6 years tank & parts10 to 12 years on Signature Premier
Navien (tankless)15 years heat exchanger / 5 years partsSame; tankless is already premium
Rinnai (tankless)12 years heat exchanger / 5 years partsSensei series goes to 15 / 5 / 1
Heads up on tankless: manufacturer warranties on tankless units usually require an annual descale flush to stay valid in hard-water areas like Long Island. We can do it, or coach you through the DIY version. Skip it at your own risk.
How a Claim Works

The Process Is Boringly Simple

No claim forms, no portals, no waiting on hold with someone reading a script.

1

You Call

Same number as always. Tell us what's going on and roughly when we installed your unit. We pull up your file.

2

We Diagnose

A tech comes out and figures out what's wrong. Diagnostic call is free during the warranty period.

3

We Repair or Replace

If it's our work or our materials, we fix it on us. If it's a unit defect, we coordinate the manufacturer warranty claim.

4

You Have Hot Water

Most warranty calls are resolved the same day. You do not handle paperwork.

Fine Print, In Plain English

What's Covered, and What's Not

We are upfront about this stuff so there are no surprises if you ever need to call.

Covered Under Our Labor Warranty

Anything we installed or connected: gas line work, water connections, venting we ran, the fittings we supplied, the actual placement and mounting of the unit. If we did it, we stand behind it for a year.

Covered Under the Manufacturer Warranty

The unit itself. Tank, burner, heating element, controls, gas valve, heat exchanger. Term varies by brand and model, registered in your name on install day.

Not Covered

Damage from freezing, flooding, hard-water sediment buildup if recommended flushes were skipped, modifications by another contractor, electrical damage from surge events, or normal sediment cleanup outside warranty terms.

Common Questions

Warranty FAQs

How long is the labor warranty?

One year from the date of install. That covers all the work we performed and the fittings we supplied.

Is the manufacturer warranty really 6 to 12 years?

Yes, and the exact term depends on the model. A standard 50-gallon Rheem residential unit is 6 years tank and parts. A Bradford White Eco-Defender goes to 10. Tankless heat exchangers go 12 to 15 years on the major brands. We tell you the term before you commit.

Do I need to register the warranty myself?

No. We register it on install day in your name with the manufacturer. You get a copy of the paperwork.

What if the unit fails after the 1-year labor period?

You're still covered by the manufacturer warranty on the unit itself. We coordinate the claim and handle the manufacturer's process. Labor to swap the unit during years 2 through the end of the manufacturer warranty has a service charge (since our labor warranty has ended), but the new unit or replacement part is provided by the manufacturer.

What voids the manufacturer warranty?

Most commonly: modification by an unlicensed contractor, freezing damage, running the unit dry, and on tankless units, skipping the annual descale flush in hard-water areas. We will warn you about the things that matter for your specific unit.

Can I transfer the warranty if I sell my house?

Manufacturer warranties are often partially transferable to a new homeowner (terms vary by brand and model). Our labor warranty stays with the original install address for the full year regardless of ownership change.
